Ricky Versetti is a Latin American music artist whose dynamic English & Spanish styles ranging from melodic hooks to strategically delivered cadences over vibey ambient beats bring a refreshing sound to hip hop and R&B.  Consequently, this unique style has attracted many heavy hitters to collab with him not just as a music artist but as a songwriter too.

While Ricky always appreciated music from a very young age often finding himself mesmerized by the moves and sounds of Michael Jackson, it wasn’t until his early teenage years that he first discovered his love of music as introspect.  Upon realization, it was no surprise that while he was attending Ennis junior high school located in Ennis, TX, his childhood hometown, he decided to join the band. His Instrument of choice: Tenor Sax.  However, three years later, hard times fell upon the family and Ricky was forced to quit band.  Not long after, his beloved mother would lose her battle to cancer at the tender young age of 34 years; Ricky was only 14 years old.  Through that unfortunate loss, his passion for creating music would only grow stronger as he continued to find his way.  This prompted a family move to Texas border town, Eagle Pass, TX.   High school would become his launching years in practicing his craft tirelessly.  His first ever live performance at the high school talent show commanded a phenomenal response of praises including many parents in attendance! This affirmed that Ricky was on the right path and it encouraged him to pursue this as his professional career.

After overcoming many obstables in his young adult life, by 2013, Ricky began a journey of collaborations with local artists.  Consequently, an opportunity came his way when he was invited to open up for Houston-based artist, Li’l Flip.  It was a major opportunity for Ricky to gain exposure and momentum.  The show was a success and it would be the gateway for many more opportunities to come his way.  Many people had Ricky on their radar and this included well-known music label, Street Made Music Group aka SMMG.  SMMG was founded in Eagle Pass and is now based in San Antonio.  They asked Ricky to come on board to which Ricky obliged and shortly after he moved to San Antonio.  Ricky knew another move was necesarry if he was to grow into the future artist he envisioned and was destined to become.

Ricky's main producer is Grammy Award-Winning Platinum Producer Ace 1 who produced countless chart toppers with a diverse number of artists including Frankie J!  Ricky has had the privilege of performing and working with many industry- heavy hitters, you see.  Just one look at his Instagram and he can share stories with you for days of time well spent making music, performing with or simply building friendships with various celebrity artists.  Some whom he looked up to in his younger years such as Bone Thugs 'N' Harmony, B-Real of Cypress Hill, legendary latin artist Massore, DJ Kane of the Kumbia Kings, MC Magic,  Paul Wall, Kirko Bangz and more!

More recently, Ricky can be found touring various states alongside highly-acclaimed actor, JT Campos, who is currently featured on USA Network’s original series: Queen of The South as the character "Boaz Jimenez".  While this may sound like an odd pairing, it’s actually pretty genius! Their collaborative partnership started in 2015 which allowed for Ricky to consistently be on the set of Queen of the South.  During that time, JT presented an opportunity to Ricky. He was asked to craft music around JT’s “Boaz” character on Queen Of The South and Ricky gladly accepted.  As a result, Ricky was also given the opportunity to make his debut acting chops in the show which you can catch on Season 3, episode 12!  That small taste has inspired Ricky to also pursue more acting roles.

Alongside these formative moments, Ricky never stopped creating.  He's produced several projects including the release of his first Spanish and first Solo album, Esencia in 2018, and has 3 more projects currently in the works for 2020 release.

Ricky Versetti has many aspirations with his career but his major goal is to have his music placed in TV shows; think "Power".  He also aspires to mentor and develop younger music artists as well as starting nonprofit organizations which give to the community in support of all kids, latino communities and underprivileged communities.
